The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Scholarship

And Economic Development Foundation

The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Foundation Mission Statement:

1. “The mission of the Foundation is to provide financial and technical resources and assistance that shall enhance and increase sustained opportunities for educational, economic, technological and cultural advancement of their communities.”

2. “To provide funds for a training facility that will provide educational and training programs for youth and adults developing their full potential for a global market place and provide scholarships for continuing education.”

PURPOSE

The Foundation’s premier purpose is to provide scholarships that will enable young African Americans to achieve great academic, career, and professional heights and contribute to the progress of their communities.

This new construction is viewed as one of the vital components of the black community, once the construction of the 15,000 square foot multipurpose educational complex is completed. The complex will contain six meeting rooms, a technology resource center, an auditorium/cafeteria multi use area with a raised stage and a commercial kitchen.

The complex will be a multi use facility for banquets, meetings, class reunions, wedding receptions, continuing education classes and temporary church services. The technology resource center will focus on the latest communication technology available to serve the community and our members throughout the state.

Even though the Educational Complex is viewed as a critical component in the overall development of the project, the project will not be complete until we construct phase two with professional office space. The development plans call for additional space for a sub-police station, post office, law offices and various other amenities.

A private foundation is being established with tax-exempt status. Funds from this project will be used to provide full scholarships for students wishing to further their education and administrative cost. A full time person will be employed for marketing and managing the facility along with facilitating the training and educational activities. The activities will be aimed at raising the funds needed to support the scholarships that would be awarded at an annual award ceremony.

Special Note: We voted at the 93rd Grand Communication that every Brother would contribute a minimum of $100.00 to support the Foundation. The Foundation has set up a separate account to deposit the funds. We are still asking Brothers to do their part to support this worthy cause. Once the Multipurpose Complex is built it will be self-supporting and provide funds for Scholarships and a means to contribute to other worthy causes. We are all one big family; therefore I’m still asking all members of every cognate branch to contribute to this worthy cause. Our goal is to raise $250,000.00 by December 2003. There are different levels of contributions for each of you to choose from. You can also graduate from one level to another by adding to your contribution. Please mail all contributions to the Grand Secretary, Bro. Kenneth C. Holley, P.O. Box 550 Moore Haven, FL 33471. The support of each and every member (both male and female) is vital to the success of the Foundation. Several Lodges and Chapters have made pledges along with other cognate branches in support of the Foundation. Your Lodge or Chapter may consider joining them; pledges can be made in installments.
